The Interfaith Center of Northeast Florida in partnership with the Jacksonville Jewish Center hosted our eighth annual interfaith Ramadan Iftar on Thursday, March 14, 2024.  The tradition of breaking the daily fast of Ramadan at the Jacksonville Jewish Center has been a cornerstone of our efforts to build bridges of understanding between Muslims, Jews, and Christians.

This year the program featured members of the Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF). The PCFF is an organization of over six hundred Israeli and Palestinian families, all of whom have lost a close family member to the ongoing conflict. Founded 30 years ago, this not-for-profit promotes acceptance and healing through the sharing of stories to break down the barriers that depersonalize the “other”. Confronted by the loss of loved ones, members of the PCFF have chosen the path of reconciliation with a vision towards ending violence in the Middle East. The PCFF panelists, one Israeli and one Palestinian, shared their personal stories about loss, hope and healing. Below you can see photos of the event and learn more about our panelists using the links below.  Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan gave remarks at the event.
