South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church and Interfaith Center of Northeast Florida were delighted to host an Advent experience, with a short service and
sounds of the season from the SJPC choir, followed by a time of learning with clergy from across the world and Christian tradition.
Before the celebrating the birth of Christ, Christians around the world will spend a month in preparation, known as Advent season. This event provided an experience for people of different faiths to practice friendship and mutual curiosity and learn more about this Christian season.
SJPC staff, choir, congregation, Rev. Chris Lieberman and Director of Music Michael Dell provided a wonderful worship and we experienced lighting of the second Advent candle. Board member Dr. Lucinda Mosher moderated the panel of Rev. Amy Slater, Pastor Anna Figueiro and Michael Dell, each provide insights into their church’s Advent worship & rituals and their personal preparation and time for reflection in the lead up to Christ’s birth.
Interfaith Center of Northeast Florida is delighted to be able to coordinate, educate and showcase interreligious diversity in the region.
