Food Pantry
Saturday May 25, 2019 10am – 1pm
Interfaith Center of Northeast Florida in partnership with Feeding Northeast Florida and World Relief Jacksonville were delighted to host our inaugural food pantry at World Relief’s warehouse. This was an opportunity for families from local immigrant and refugee communities to supplement their food and grocery shopping.
World Relief focuses on re-settling refugees with services such as airport reception, initial housing, food, cash assistance, social security and food stamp applications, in addition to helping recently-arrived refugees. We’re excited to partner together to help those in our communities!
Feeding Northeast Florida provided a range of fresh and non-perishable food and critical resources to those locally struggling with food insecurity.
We are very grateful to the 18 volunteers who spent their morning opening pallets and re-boxing food to hand out to pantry visitors, on a very hot Saturday morning. We were also appreciative to be hosting the market undercover. The four children who helped volunteer had a great time. The event was such a success we hope to make this a bimonthly event.
